Who was Erasmus of Rotterdam and what is Erasmus+ Funding?

Erasmus of Rotterdam was a 15th century Dutch teacher, Renaissance humanist and theologian. He believed in creating a supporting a society that could speak and write with clarity and be more able to involved in their communities and society. He lived an independent life and travelled throughout Europe tutoring and lecturing at a number universities.

The Erasmus+ programme is a €14bn EU scheme, running from 2014 – 2020, which offers exciting opportunities for participants to study, work, volunteer, teach and train abroad in Europe. It is aimed at students, trainees, apprentices, pupils, adult learners, young people, volunteers, professors, teachers, trainers, youth workers and professionals of organisations active in the education, training and youth sector.
