Unit 1 – Getting to know the team
Introduction
This unit is designed to explore the issues of team building and team understanding.
The specific objectives are to:
- gain cultural insights into team building and understanding
- gain interpersonal insights
- identify best practices for communicating at this stage in an international project
Video tasks
In this unit, we focus on the key moments at the start of a project when the team gets together for a kick-off meeting. We explore their behaviour during introductions at the start of the meeting and also later in the hotel bar.
Audio interview
Camillo Mazzola is the marketing director of the strategic business unit for consumer adhesives for Henkel Italy . Additionally, he has responsibility for parts of the business in Greece . We interviewed Camillo about his experience of running project kick-off meetings.
