This programme will enable you to:
- understand the challenge of ‘culture’ by profiling national and corporate environments
- be able to communicate more effectively using seven core international communication skills: clear speaking, effective listening, rapport building, influencing, managing conflict, coaching and handling feedback
- develop your own intercultural competencies for working internationally
This programme is aimed at professionals working in an international business environment who want to develop their international competence. English at CEF B2 level is required to attend this programme. Any client in doubt should arrange a pre-course telephone interview to assess present level.
Programme
Programmes will be customised to individual requirements with the following as the core content:
Day 1
What is ‘culture’ and what is intercultural competence?
Profiling national and corporate cultures
Understanding yourself: how do you see yourself / how do others see you?
Managing international communication styles
Day 2
International management cultures: expectations of leadership and teamwork
The ‘pull’ and ‘push’ approach to international leadership communication
Running international meetings (virtual and face-to-face)
International communication skills: managing conflict in international projects
Day 3
Case study: developing guidelines for working in international projects
International communication skills: giving and getting feedback
Understanding own strengths and development points for working internationally
Creating a personal action plan
The working day is from 09.00 to 17.00, Monday to Friday.
