International negotiating
We run a series of two-day international negotiation seminars for a major German client. The programme looks at the particular challenges faced by negotiators working across a range of business cultures. It develops international competencies to handle both cooperative and positional negotiating styles.
International business communication
We run courses in Switzerland for a major multinational client entitled International business communication. These intensive courses develop skills in professional communication skills, professional vocabulary, relevant social vocabulary and command of business grammar.
International project communication
Increasingly, clients request language and communication support for those working in international projects. Last year York Associates delivered a two-day programme for a group of public sector employees focusing on a range of language, communication and interpersonal skills critical to international project success. Read the article on this course published in our quarterly newsletter.
European project communication
York Associates' commitment to building relations with public sector organisations received a boost in early April when Steve Flinders travelled to Växjö in the south of Sweden to help local authority representatives there to develop their international project communication skills prior to the official launch of SISAC - Sustainable Energy Systems in Advanced Cities, a major European Union project forming part of the new EU Concerto of initiatives. Steve ran a two-day course comprising skills development work for presentations, meetings, conflict resolution and social skills such as rapport building, within the context of developing intercultural understanding. The acting council chief executive was also able to attend for one day and the mayor and deputy mayor for one session. A final meeting drew up an action plan for the implementation of a communication policy for the project as a whole.
