Participants
This course is for those working internationally who would like to improve their fluency and professional communication skills in English in an international group. Minimum entry level is pre-intermediate (level 4 or above on the YA scale). Any client in doubt should arrange a pre-course telephone interview to help assess their present level.
Objectives
Programmes are customised to specific group requirements. Your group trainer will do a detailed needs analysis on Monday morning and agree a timetable of activities which meets the needs of the group to develop fluency and professional communication skills in a number of key areas, for example:
- presenting to international audiences
- making your message clear
- handling audience questions effectively - leading and participating in international meetings
- ways to lead international meetings
- ways to participate effectively in international meetings - handling international negotiations
- ways to structure an international negotiation
- handling conflict - managing virtual communication (telephone, email and audio / video conferencing)
- understanding the dangers of virtual communication
- tips and tricks to be a better virtual communicator - building relationships through social contacts with stakeholders
- managing first contacts
- developing relationships through social conversation
Each day may have one or more sessions (depending on participant objectives) focused on language skills in order to increase:
- business vocabulary
- knowledge of social English
- command of core grammar to build fluency and range of expression

This course is 30 hours per week with the working day structured from 09.00 to 17.00 as follows:

Evening activities
At least two events will be arranged, either an evening dinner, sports activity, theatre, live music, countryside tour etc. This is optional and y ou are free to have dinner with your host family each evening (subject to availability) if you wish.
