Participants
This course is aimed at lawyers, both private practitioners and corporate staff, who need to develop
their oral and written communication skills within a legal framework in English.

Objectives
Programmes are customised to specific group requirements. Your group trainer will do a detailed needs analysis on Monday morning and agree a timetable of activities which meets the needs of the group to develop fluency and professional communication skills in a number of key areas for legal communication. The following three areas form the basis of this training course.

1. Professional communication skills

Participants will develop their ability to present and participate in meetings on legal issues, negotiate terms and conditions of contract and draft documents on legal topics. The training course will include both language input and detailed feedback on individual performance.

2. Specialist legal vocabulary

Most participants want to develop their general confidence and fluency when speaking about legal issues. The training programme will use legal case studies to create lots of opportunities for speaking about legal topics in order to develop fluency and increase command of specialist vocabulary.

3. General language skills

Input on general English and grammar (as required) will enable participants to speak more accurately and improve their social English.

This course is 30 hours with each working day structured from 09.00 to 17.00 as follows:

Evening activities
At least two events will be arranged, either an evening dinner, sports activity, theatre, live music, countryside tour etc. This is optional and y ou are free to have dinner with your host family each evening (subject to availability) if you wish.
