Situational Leadership in the Defence Sector

This practical 4-day course is for military professionals and those working in the Defence Sector who have regular contact with English speaking, external agencies.  It is particularly suited to those individuals with a management or team leader role.  Participants will build an understanding of the challenges of leading and communicating in English, influencing team members and customers, identifying best practice in key areas of international team work, and developing the knowledge, behaviours and attitudes necessary to achieve results.

Course Content

Day 1
  • Identify influencing behaviours and the difference between assertive and responsive behaviours.
  • Learn how to give feedback.
  • Learn how to brief effectively using the Concentric Briefing technique.
  • Military English Projects to practice and perfect behaviours.
Day 2
  • Situational Leadership, what it is, how it works and ways to get the best from it.
  • Blockbusting as a creative thinking tool.
  • Military English projects.
Day 3

Introduction to MBTI or SDI, focusing on personal awareness and relationship building.

Day 4
  • Team Roles – Belbin
  • Final projects
  • One to one feedback.
